Here is a sneak peek from todays Christening shoot (yes, TODAY! - my son napped & kept busy for a few hours & mama was able to get some work done)
I'm so so so excited to share with you that I've been featured in CHIC Magazine! Not only was my photo selected for publication, but to top it all off, I didn't even submit it..... CHIC Magazine contacted me directly asking to use my image. How awesome is that!?! :) Head over to their website to order your copy today!
http://chiccritiqueforum.com/magazine/ My first newborn session of 2014! And it goes to my very best friend's sister, who just had her 3rd baby boy! Not only was I excited about the shoot (as i always am - especially a nb), I thought it would be a great idea to get some 'behind the scenes' shots. I've been doing newborn photography for over 2 years, and I may only have 1 session like this, so who better to ask than my bff :) Who says a photographer is a one woman job? There's a lot that goes into photographing a newborn, you probably have no idea unless you've been to a photo session or photographed one yourself. Every session is different. And every baby is different. Thanks for all your help ladies! I think between all of us we created a beautiful photo ;) {i must admit, i love this image.} Baby Sebastian 9 days new :) just look at those lips! and those little baby rolls. to everyone who wonders if (& why) they should invest their money on a photo session when they "have a good camera of my own"..........Anyone can take a picture. THIS is why you hire a photographer. THIS moment is gone in the blink of an eye.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family. Two big sisters to a new baby brother Chase! How exciting!! Aren't these girls so amazingly beautiful!?! The camera loves them!! Thank you for making my job so fun and easy! :) Here are a few of my favorites
it's about that time of year again!... time for christmas cards to be sent. Here's my recent session with two handsome boys I also photographed last christmas.
A few months ago I took a lifestyle photography course online and met some amazing women/moms/photographers all sharing the same passion from all over the world. We focused on everyday storytelling using our main subject - our kids. Our 5 on 5 is featured every fifth of the month with a collection of 5 photos. Now, I must say that iphone photos look WAY better on an iphone than on my mac, but this is a part of MY lifestyle photography - it's just easier to whip out my phone than to lug around a camera with a puppy, a 2 year old & a cup of coffee. :) And ONE for good luck! ;) Something about this shot i can't quite put my finger on. But I love it. {My dad, my niece madelyn, my oldest sister rosemarie, my son jackson, & my niece jordyn.} i have no idea what grandpa is doing but it sure got everyone's attention! follow me on instagram @misslalaphotography & like us on fb www.facebook.com/misslalaphotography

Certain things are just done on a daily basis. Making a mess of the house. This is what we do for most of the morning. My son goes from one room to the next like a tornado - completely destroying it. Making time for play. If the weather's nice, it's always fun to get outdoors & get some FRESH AIR! Most days we go for a walk in Jackson's car. He loves that thing. "Beep, Beep". We walk to dunkin donuts up the block (i love this) and sometimes go to the park a block up the other direction. (this is also a plus). Anything to keep him from going crazy in the house, jumping on furniture, attacking his cat momo (although they are BFF), pulling my hair - getting TIME OUT! Playing outside definitely allows him to blow off all the energy and just be a kid. And it keeps me from getting beat up and going nuts. Trips to the store are always fun. Although I have to come fully prepared. Make sure he's napped, ate, changed. Bring Snacks! Anything to keep him occupied for a short time so I can get something done. But it's always fun with him. Mommy is always a sucker for this little boy<3 Get in the pictures. Even if it's just to make silly faces. I know us moms are always shying away because our hair is a mess or we look terrible. But it's so important to be included when documenting my son's life. I want him know i was there and we played and had fun.
