So of course our life varies a little each day, just like you, but for the most part, we're on a routine. Certain things are just done on a daily basis. Making a mess of the house. This is what we do for most of the morning. My son goes from one room to the next like a tornado - completely destroying it. Making time for play. If the weather's nice, it's always fun to get outdoors & get some FRESH AIR! Most days we go for a walk in Jackson's car. He loves that thing. "Beep, Beep". We walk to dunkin donuts up the block (i love this) and sometimes go to the park a block up the other direction. (this is also a plus). Anything to keep him from going crazy in the house, jumping on furniture, attacking his cat momo (although they are BFF), pulling my hair - getting TIME OUT! Playing outside definitely allows him to blow off all the energy and just be a kid. And it keeps me from getting beat up and going nuts. Trips to the store are always fun. Although I have to come fully prepared. Make sure he's napped, ate, changed. Bring Snacks! Anything to keep him occupied for a short time so I can get something done. But it's always fun with him. Mommy is always a sucker for this little boy<3 Get in the pictures. Even if it's just to make silly faces. I know us moms are always shying away because our hair is a mess or we look terrible. But it's so important to be included when documenting my son's life. I want him know i was there and we played and had fun.

One of my close friends came over for her daughter's first birthday shoot. How adorable is she? And she's so good in front of the camera. I love getting those candid shots, but it's also a PLUS when kids look at the camera sometimes :) And of course my son jackson had to see what was going on in the studio. but he did NOT want to share his jellybeans
My youngest niece cora came over yesterday. poor kid was so sad. but i just love capturing these moments. you can really feel the emotions. drama mama ;)
There are a few (amazing) photography blogs i follow. One of them called "kids were here" is about documenting details of your life for evidence that your Kids Were Here. (click for blog: http://kidswerehere.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/kids-were-here-april-2013/ This is such a great idea! Especially for all of us moms that want to remember every little detail our children will leave behind. The mess, the toys all over the floor, dirty hands, spilled sticky drinks on your couch! yuck! .... Yeah it may seem like (excuse me) a pain in the a** right now, to have to constantly clean up after everyone, But one day, those days will be gone. My baby boy will grow up and move on and I'll think back & remember how it used to be when jackson was here (Please excuse my iPHONE photos! sometimes its just easier than lugging around my camera & hey, it's a blog right? :) scroll to top for misslalaphotography) He just HAS to take them out of the cup. (I should've taken the "after" picture where he STEPS on them) In case you were wondering, NO ITS NOT CHRISTMAS. It's just a MESS on my floor in christmas pajamas
One thing i love about lifestyle photography, is you really get to experience the photo. These everyday snapshots are my best photos. Sure, some are taken with my iphone and the processing isn't all that great, but who cares? When my son looks back on today from some distant time in the future, he won't care about the photo being perfect. It's not just fake smiles and posing, it's REAL life. Dirty feet, blurry photos, a messy house. THESE are the things i want to remember when my son is all grown up. the way he REALLY is. the way my house really looked on a daily basis when he destroyed it looking for a specific toy, or just being what boys are great at being - MESSY!
